This March, we’re highlighting some of the industry leaders who have left their mark on our homes and hearts through our Ruggable X Collaborations. Iris Apfel

Meet Iris Apfel

We are honored to have known and worked with the late Iris Apfel, who passed on March 1. We learned a great deal from her 102 amazing years of life. She was a fashion icon, a design pioneer, and unapologetically herself in everything she did. Her bold, maximalist aesthetic served for decades as a muse for fashion and interior designers alike. Her eclectic zest for self expression, breaking molds, and living life to the fullest has inspired entire generations to believe that “more is more and less is a bore.” She sharpened her eye for design at a young age, entertaining herself with scraps of fabric at family gatherings and parties during her youth. Fast forward to her restoration design projects at the White House and inspirational service to nine American Presidents, where she inspired the entire nation with her spellbinding pattern play. Few people make a true, lasting mark on this world, and Iris was one of them.

Nina Takesh, may be known for her impeccable taste and impact on a wide range of style industries, including luxury baby products, home remodeling, commercial design, and French fashion, but we’re smitten for her eye for interior design. She crafts effortlessly chic spaces that wield old and new forms and materials to crescendo into a symphony of modern luxury. Drawing inspiration from nature and contemporary craftsmanship, she challenges the status quo and styles balanced, livable spaces that put the mind at ease. Her sanctuaries are thoughtful, balanced, and comfortable, placing equal emphasis on both form and function. 

Cynthia Rowley

Cynthia Rowley’s mission has been rooted in women’s empowerment from the start. Her carefree, feminine, and flirty designs have propelled American fashion for decades with the philosophy that “fashion should be an adventure.” From her New York hub, she has shaped closets, homes, and spirits across the globe with her pretty-meets-sporty signature look. Not only is she the “pioneer of surf-leisure,” but she celebrates self expression and exploration with her notable platforms like her “Ageless” podcast. In addition to designing adventure-ready clothing and accessories, she also promotes the pursuit of a meaningful life through her passionate brand storytelling. 

Jeneva Bell

Meet Jeneva Bell

You may not realize just how much Jeneva has changed your life, but trust us when we say…she has. Our fearless founder, and industry disruptor, Jeneva Bell, is to thank for the life changing invention of our beloved machine washable two-piece rug system. “Growing up with parents who valued style meant that there were a lot of beautiful things in our home. It also meant there were a lot of rules, and I was limited in what I could do to make sure things stayed ‘nice,'” shares Jeneva of her pre-Ruggable days. When her dog, Bambi, ruined her own beautiful rug, she took it upon herself to invent a solution that prioritized premium style, yet still felt livable. Fast forward to Ruggable. We’re proud to be led by a design-oriented, life-loving woman who never settled for standard. Jeneva has and continues to propel us forward, onward, and upward, prioritizing designs and products that foster authenticity and connection. Thanks to Jeneva, we spend more time enjoying the imperfections of a meaningful life and less time worrying about perfection.  

This month, we’re grateful to celebrate the women who inspire us daily.
