Choosing the Rug Size

How big your dining room rug should be will depend on the size of your table. Your dining chairs should sit entirely on the rug, with enough room to pull them out and still remain on the rug. Typically, a dining table for six or eight looks best on an 8'x10' or 9'x12' rug, while a table for four would sit nicely on an 8'x10', 6'x9', or an 8' round rug.
