Every Style in Our All-New Iris Apfel Collection

Iris Apfel remained a style and maximalist design icon for over a century, inspiring the world to express themselves unapologetically through vibrant colors, bold patterns, and an unshakeable air of confidence that pulls it all together. While the self-proclaimed “world’s oldest teenager” passed away peacefully at age 102, we are beyond lucky to have worked closely with Iris herself and her personal library of textiles. Our original Ruggable x Iris Apfel collection, which debuted in 2022, featured 15 statement-making (and always washable) rugs and five doormats — inspiring a new generation of interior decor enthusiasts who, like Iris, took a chance on what brings them joy.

Now, her legacy lives on. We’re honored to share an all-new Iris Apfel collection crafted with our signature washable ease to help you “have fun, take chances, and be bold” as Iris would say. So what’s new? A lot. We’ve created six additional rug designs (available in Flatwoven or the thicker Tufted feel), two doormats for entryway pizazz, and two Iris-inspired washable throw pillows. Inspired by the floral fabrics in Iris’ personal textile collection, the Iris Apfel Protea Forest Green Rug is a botanical dream come true. Floral motifs swirl and bloom in contrasting shades of pink, lavender and orange with this rug’s namesake protea flower taking the spotlight. The backdrop of the rug is a grounding (and surprisingly versatile) forest green hue that lends a peaceful quality to any room. Can you spy the hummingbirds? “More is more and less is a bore.” Iris was a maximalist at heart, forever playing with compositions of varying colors, textures, and patterns. This patchwork-focused style is imbued with that curatorial eye of hers. Florals and geometric patterns are anchored by a color palette of warm coral and pink, with pops of deep midnight blue, bright teal, and saturated red. It’s almost like peering into a secret scrapbook of treasured clippings and swatches.

Iris loved to merge the worlds of fine art and fantasy. The Iris Apfel Dreamweaver Blue Multicolor Rug feels like a dreamed-up version of the Unicorn Tapestries hanging in The Cloisters in New York (Iris’ hometown) that’s been recreated by memory. A midnight blue backdrop holds space for the whimsical flora and fauna — like peacocks, hares, and a white unicorn. It’s fanciful, dreamy, and rooted in mystery much like its artful inspiration.

Inspired by traditional Turkish loom rugs, our vibrant Iris Apfel Colorful Loom Mango Rug showcases Iris’ taste for luxury. The geometric figures within the design represent her personal jewelry collection (we can only imagine how beautiful that must be) and the golden yellow background is richly-saturated for a plush look. If there’s one rug in this collection that lends itself to the luxurious tufted cover, this is it.

Fun fact: Monkeys were Iris’ favorite animal. Allow us to get lovey-dovey for a moment. This gorgeous pillow is our tribute to the decades of love between Iris and her husband Carl.
