About Our 10-Foot Runner Rugs

Ruggable’s long runner rugs measure 2.5 feet by 10 feet, giving narrow spaces just enough floor coverage and protection against wear and tear, spills, and even pet accidents. Here are some of the best use cases for longer runners:

  • Add dimension and a splash of color to long hallways

  • Provide cushion and warmth underfoot in longer galley-style kitchens

  • Offer a soft landing at the foot or either side of a king-size bed

  • Define or accentuate a section of your living room

  • Elevate your mudroom, laundry room, or bathroom with double-sink vanities

How to Choose a Long Runner Rug

  • Pile and Texture: Our long runner rugs come in a variety of textures and piles. Chenille Rugs are low-pile, lightweight, and feature a smooth texture. These rugs work best in high-traffic areas and low-clearance doors, like in the kitchen and entryways. Plush Moroccan Rugs are medium-pile rugs that feature a soft, teddy bear-like texture. Shag Rugs are high-pile rugs, which boast a soft, cushiony feel and a furry and fuzzy texture. Both higher-pile rugs will look nice and feel comfortable in bedrooms, living rooms, and hallways.

  • Color and Style: Because kitchen and hallway floors are prone to muddy foot and paw prints, messes, and spills, opt for long runners in darker shades of black, grey, dark blue, or black and white.

  • Safety: All our long runner rugs come with a Rug Pad that’s specifically designed to cling to the floor and keep your rug securely in place.

How Long Should Your Runner Be?

For kitchens, hallways, and entryways, opt for a runner rug that allows you to have at least 4 to 5 inches of visible flooring between the rug and the wall.

As for placement, if the hallway or kitchen galley is wide, position the runner rug against one of the walls, or along the sink side of the kitchen. If the space is narrow, position the runner in the center.

Washable Long Runner Rugs to the Rescue

Since runners are usually placed in high-traffic areas, make sure you opt for runner rugs that are easy to clean. The good news? All our kitchen and hallway runner rugs are stain-resistant, water-resistant, and machine-washable—even the extra-long ones! No matter what color, pattern, or style you’re looking for, we’ve got the perfect long runner rug for you!
